Rumali Roti is a thin flatbread looks like handkerchief. The word rumali is derived from the Hindi word rumal which means handkerchief in English. It was originated in the Indian subcontinent, popular in India and Pakistan. It is usually eaten with Tandoori dishes. It is known as lamboo roti in Punjab Pakistan and dosti roti in Caribbean.

Ingredients

* Wheat flour (Atta): 1 Cup,
*Maida  : 2 Cups,
* Baking Soda: 1/4 tsp
* Salt: 1tsp,
* Cooking Oil: 1-2 tsp,
* Water: 1½ cup

Making dough for Rumali roti

1. Mix atta, maida, salt, oil and baking soda in a bowl.
2. Add water and knead it to make soft dough.
3. Cover the dough and leave it for 15 -20 minutes.

Steps for making Rumali roti/ How to make Rumali roti

1. Take small portions of the dough and roll it very thin with roti roller.
2. Heat the tawa or kadhai and reverse it on the stove.
3. Put rolled roti on the tawa or Kadhai   and cook it for few seconds.
4. Turn it over and cook it till you see brown spots on roti.
5. Fold the rumali roti and keep it in casserole
6. Serve the rumali roti with your favorite curry.
